Default Air Australia MEL-PER?

The Melbourne Airport is showing Air Australia operating services to Perth from December 10. Obviously this is not going to start in two days, but it may well be on the cards in the near future.

If those dates are indeed correct it appears as though these may be charters over the busy XMAS-New Year period ???

makes sense. They should be able to offer probably the cheaper A320 charters, with their very low cost A320's & fact that PER & MEL already bases.

Re Air Australia, who's spreading the rumours ? QF, DJ, JQ, TT or all ?

Air Australia does plan to make MEL-PER (or PER-MEL, I have to check) a regular flight, but it will only be one-way due to how mining flights etc. work out.
