Default Airbus with single-flash pattern?

Noticed a Sichuan Airlines A330, B-308Q fly overhead at the Gladesville Bridge as I was on the ferry up the river last night.

However, the flash pattern did not look like the traditional Airbus double-flash, nor the newer, more rapid version of it.

It appeared to be a single flash pattern, but every second flash looked like it was slightly offset from the first.

Is this a new thing for Airbus? Never seen it before.
