I read the a book a few years back - I think it was called 'Death of Ansett' (???) - it spoke a lot of the politics involved...I think SQ almost had AN but Howard/Anderson at QF's urging convinced NZ to go 100% and stop sale. Also spoke about the 767 grounding and that it was not necessary and really crippled the airline. I too tend to agree that while AN's situation was dire QF sure did help in sending it to the grave.

The evil,premeditated murder of an airline, have it sitting next to me, if you can get past the authors self rightous attitude its a good read.

This thread's had three pages to deliver the goods, and failed miserably.

Marty, readers' comments (many of which are anonymous) are neither 'news' nor newsworthy. Take as strong a position as you like for or against Qantas or anyone else, but back your assertions up with facts and hard evidence, rather than sweeping statements. -mod
