Default VH-ZNG

Does anyone know what's wrong with ZNG as she hasn't flown since the 24/1?

Looks like its causing a few issues with the network with QF29 cancelled today & 744's are having to sub in for some sectors out of Melb which should have been done by 789 i.e. MEL-SFO 31/1 was operated by OEH

I believe it was damaged, not sure when, where or how.

Wow that’s not good news if that’s the case given how new the aircraft is & not to mention the cost involved to fix it!

It was a set of maintenance stairs, around 24 Jan. I believe it’ll be out of action for another couple of weeks for repairs.

Thanks Rowan for the update.
Geez not a good result given how new the aircraft is & already needing repairs for an incident with should not have taken place.
QF29 cancelled again today

Heard they were runaway stairs from the virgin terminal that hit the 787

Accidents happen. It’s not what I would call major damage.

Any update on a date of when she will be returning to service?

Sounds similar to the recent (2016) Brisbane storm where runaway stairs took out a few aircraft https://www.news.com.au/travel/trave...4c877d1f094463
