Default Budget airfares blamed for luring bogan travellers

Quote:
THE rise of budget airlines has unleashed a new class of traveller on the flying public and fellow flyers and airports are not happy about it.
Airline and airport workers have noticed a rise in the number of badly behaved passengers and say budget airlines are partly to blame, prompting calls for a traveller's code of conduct.

A Brisbane Airport executive who declined to be named, said the number of drunken incidents involving "bogan" passengers had increased markedly since the cost of airfares had plummeted.

Reminds me of Virgin Blue when they first started - most of the Shazza and Dazza's seemed to jump ship to Jetstar when that started up. Perhaps they're all at Tiger now?

Yep, for sure, you hear them on the radio every time Tiger cancels a flight swearing they'll never fly them again (unless they're the cheapest, of course).

Flying no longer seems to be a privilege these days...

There are countless people I know who take full advantage of the low fares offered by JQ and TT just to go up to the Gold Coast or wherever, just to get drunk and what-have-you-not, and then whinge on facebook that they got told they couldn't fly and would have to take the next available flight.

Gone are the days when men wear suits and ties to board planes, and ladies wear their best evening dress. It's almost like getting on a bus thesedays. I for one have been on flights more times than on buses.
