rumour : AR changes to SYD service
It has been reported on A.net that AR will be changing their SYD services as follows:
Appears AR will operate as follows effective 1st July EZE-AKL-SYD-EZE AR1182 EZE ETD 0830 AKL ETA 1310+1 days 135 AR1182 AKL ETD 1440 SYD ETA 1630 days 246 AR1183 SYD ETD 1830 EZE ETA 1910 days 246 AKL will apparently be reduced to a tech stop on the Westbound flight only. Interestingly this will make the flight into a daylight flight Westbound ( and a @#$@%# long day it will be) . Also, given AR's spotty punctuality record allowing only a 2 hour turnaround at SYD might be a bit ambitious. No official sources yet... but you can no longer book flights in/out of AKL on AR after 30 June. |

Still to be operated by the A342?

Yes probably the A343 considering there's no stop in AKL on the east-bound leg.

hmmmm Wonder if this is why its harder now to get a cheaper deal with LAN than it used to be. Heaven forbid LAN ever do this. I kinda like the $760 ret biz class fares that used to pop up from time to time.

That suggests A342 then for the westbound range? Interesting only earlier this week there was good information saying the westbound AKL tech stop would be retained!

This could be the right time for Air NZ to enter the AKL-EZE market with QF already gone and they can gain feed from Asia. A 2 per week 772 would be a good start as they drop the 2 per week AKL-PEK flights from 30 June to free up the aircraft.
