Samoa Airways started daylight flights today for 9 weeks and will then revert back to night flights.
Good opportunity to photograph it in between passing showers.

Use both left and right arrows as a few things have been happening since my last post.

Cheers.

Stefan Drury is a Melbourne based Youtube Channel owner and pilot whom flies around OZ in a Cirrus, but also does some other interesting stuff.

In his latest video, he is in the Brisbane Tower simulation centre having a go at being a tower controller. The sim is actually set up to run parallel runway ops for procedural training for the go live on 01L / 19R.

Video is here.

Anything landing on 01L / 19R bound for the logistics ramp off taxiway L and Juliet may need a servo stop for a snack and a splash and dash.

FVH was formally transferred to Heavylift on 11/02.

Any news of the other ATR Ex. F-WTBD/OK-KFP/639 which was ferried into Cairns (for Heavylift) a couple of weeks ago ?

Brisbane Airport's longest serving employee celebrates 50 years on the tarmac

From smoking on planes to spotting debris as it flies off aircraft, one man has seen it all when it comes to life at Brisbane Airport.

Over 50 years airside operations officer John Hansford has seen airlines come and go, as well as being part of moving the airport from Eagle Farm to its current location.

"When I first started at Eagle Farm we did everything," he told ABC Radio Brisbane's Steve Austin.

"We had the workshops there and we would make everything from scratch — it was like a little city and a big family."

Mr Hansford has also been a front-row observer to how air travel and behaviour has adapted to societal norms.

"People would come off the planes smoking," he recalled of the early years.

"You weren't supposed to smoke inside the security fence, and even though there were no-smoking signs on the fence, they still did."
