I stand corrected!
Ok, I'm sitting. Interesting. Never seen 332 at PER.

My records show that at least 5 different South African A332s have visited Perth over the last 12 months or so.

Yes, confirmed in yesterday's media release on the new flights from BNE - SFO & ORD. Which 2019 delivery wasn't specified but your rumour is the next 789 which is due in late September, early October, Greg?

Quote:
As a tribute to the airline’s Queensland roots, Qantas also confirmed today that one of its new 787 Dreamliner aircraft to be delivered later this year will be named Longreach.

“As we count down to our centenary and retire our extended range 747 aircraft, which all feature the iconic Longreach name, we’re proud to continue its legacy on one of our new 787s. Queensland is a pivotal part of our history and an important part of our identity,” said Mr Joyce.

QANTAS to operate B789s to AKL:

Quote:
Qantas will operate one of its five daily Sydney-Auckland services using Boeing 787-9s between 4 December 2019 and 28 March 2020.

Cirium schedules data shows that the 236-seat jets will replace 737-800s used on a daily service, increasing capacity by 63 seats each flight.

This aircraft can be redeployed from the SYD - HKG route during the period that QF127/128 is operated by A380s.

Not sure which services the 789s will operate to AKL but QF141/142, QF144/145 and QF147/148 are all currently flown with B738s. The other two return services per day are operated by A330s.

Further to my previous post, the QANTAS B789 will operate to AKL on QF141 departing SYD at 7:10 and return as QF144 arriving back in SYD at 14:55. Given the current times for QF73/74, the AKL flights could be slotted in, with a few minutes variation, after arrival from SFO and be back in SYD in time for departure to SFO.

Has anyone heard a rumour that QANTAS will announce an order for an additional four 787-9s in August, presumably when the 2019 final results are announced on 22 August, 2019? This would give a 787-9 fleet of 18 aircraft.
