Default 'Opposite direction' departure, CBR 28/2

Hi All

Was listening to CBR ATC on the way home tonight & heard a QF B73H was awaiting departure from 17 while arrivals were inbound for 35. QF961 was slowed to 230kt on descent for sequencing with the opposite direction departure, & the last landing I heard was QF834 by which time it hadn't taken off & I lost signal. 961 was told the opposite direction was 'due a requirement'.

Wondering if anyone has info on the oddball departure, ie the flight number & perhaps the 'requirement'??

Thanks in advance. Rowan

There were quite a few issues at CBR for landing aircraft due to visibility tonight, runway 17 was the active but there were low clouds on the approach so aircraft were making downwind landings on 35.

QF822 (TJY) went missed on 17 and came back for 35 and QLK491D (QOK) was setting up for a 17 arrival shortly after but corrected and arrived on 35.

CBR also saw diversions of VH-NJF and VH-VQO tonight
