Default Air Niugini PX73 overshoots into Chuuk Lagoon

New Route from Narita to POM via Chuuk has only been operating a few weeks and it seems they went off the end of the runway when landing at Chuuk, ending up in the lagoon. Casualties not known at this stage. Aircraft appears to be intact.

EDIT, and another link with Video. All on board seem to have got out OK.

Good that everyone's OK.

The salt water will make this one a write-off, though.

One passenger was reported as missing on Sunday and it has now been confirmed that the body of the missing passenger has in fact been found in the water.
