Despite a shaky start, the A380 superjumbo is now becoming a more common sight in the skies. Gary Noakes assesses how it is faring, and looks forward to the next major aircraft launch, Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner

As of September 20, Singapore Airlines goes double-daily with the A380 from Heathrow, meaning that only one of its three daily frequencies from London – the 18.30 departure – is still flown on a Boeing 747.
