A220 flights seem to be cancelled an awful lot. Is it crewing issues or reliability issues? Last night's SYD-HBA cancelled, with most passengers told they'd have to wait another 24 hours to fly home. I was one of these passengers and the agent told me that the flights today are now "overbooked." Hardly filled me with confidence!

You may score a B717 flight. Could be the last, who knows ?

I think it's a bit of both. The A220 fleet worldwide has had terrible reliability due to poor engines and general supply chain issues; even the world's largest operators like Delta and Air Canada have had to ground a large portion of their fleet. I saw recently that a third of all Airbus new narrowbody aircraft (NEO and A220) are currently grounded over reliability concerns.
Expect the same with Qantas' A321XLR.

At this stage it’s a lack of crew owing to the poor conditions, pure and simple.
