Flights to and from Frankfurt affected by industrial action

German trade union ver.di has announced industrial action will begin at 10pm on Sunday 27 July, for an unknown period of time. Staff employed by LSG, our catering service provider, will strike until further notice. Other Qantas services such as passenger and ramp handling are not impacted.

Due to the industrial action we are unable to load or unload catering in Frankfurt. We have implemented contingency plans for our catering service on QF005 and QF006. These flights will operate with an amended catering service.

If you are travelling on QF005 from Sydney or Singapore to Frankfurt:-
We will be providing an amended meal service consisting of refreshment and breakfast between Singapore and Frankfurt. Customers will be provided with dinner at Singapore airport prior to departure.

If you are travelling on QF006 from Frankfurt to Singapore and Sydney:-
We will be providing an amended meal service consisting of refreshment and breakfast between Frankfurt and Singapore. Customers will be provided with dinner at Frankfurt airport prior to departure.

There is no impact for Sydney - Singapore or return services.

Customers with connections:-

Customers with inbound or outbound onward connections from Frankfurt, on Lufthansa or other airlines, may be subject to schedule changes or cancellations.
We are currently awaiting information from Lufthansa regarding flight changes and/ or cancellations.

We will update this website as the industrial action progresses.

For further information on Lufthansa services and the impact of the strike please refer to the Lufthansa website.
