Default QFlink capacity issues BNE CBR

Noticed that 737s are being subbed for 717s multiple times a day BNE CBR this month, wonder if that is because they need the room or more likely there are not enough 717s to do the job given the storm damage late last year and other issues?

It's the storm damage. There was never enough spare capacity to cover being one aircraft down.

Yeah, like Max said the two-class B717 fleet was pretty stretched as it was (any kind of cancellation or delay (not talking the 10 minute 'our paperwork has been held up' types, but the mechanical, holding, etc type delays) tended to have knock-on effects), then YQU was damaged in the storms in Brissie and hasn't flown since. I understand YQU is now in a hangar undergoing repairs and according to QF's online schedule the B737s stop covering the B717s at the end of this week (although I doubt that is a result of YQU coming back, and more likely because NXK, which is currently in the CBR hangar, is going to sub instead?).

Maybe NXE? I believe that is in the hanger in CBR having an engine change at the moment

Yeah, or that! I did see a 2nd B717 in the hangar this morning but figured NXK would be out earlier... having just checked, maybe NXK is only just past her half-way mark (4 weeks, last one was 7 weeks). Could, for sure, be NXE!

Thanks Max, thought as much. The extra flights have been going before NXE dropped offline last week, looks like cancellations in WA are the way its absence is being handled.Reckon you would have to be a good chess player to handle an ops position that deals with this stuff.

YQU is now in Hangar 3 in BNE and from the pic I've seen, it's being repaired.

ETA unknown.
