Default QF A380 - row 80?

Hi to all -
A quick question regarding seats 80A & 80K in economy on the Qantas A380:
Given they house the IFE screen in the armrest, must these screens be stowed away during take off and landings?

I assume the answer is yes, however I have read reports from others who have had these seats and kept their screens out during take off and landing to watch the tailcam.

Is this a problem?

Yes it is Dave, thanks for asking.

Viewing the tailcam during take off and landing is the only reason I would choose to fly on an A380 ahead of other aircraft operating the same route.

I see. I never thought of the tail cam.

I just flew in these two seats to LHR and back in June/July. The flight attendants sit facing you pretty much so I'd be surprised if they let you keep the screen out.

In any case the tail cam didn't work on the flight to LHR!

I thought the flight attendants sat opposite; that is what led to my initial confusion after reading reports that others have had their screens out during take off and landings.

Thanks for that confirmation Andy.

Cheers
