Default Good Scanner and Plane Plotter App for iPhone?

I have purchased a half decent mobile phone at log last, an iPhone 4s. Can anyone recommend good, free apps for spring and scanning of emergency services?

I am completely new to scanners and know nothing about using them. Will I have to spring for a stand-alone scanner like a Unidex?

Thanks in advance.

Pop into the App Store and download the Live Atc app and also the Flightradar24 app for starters . You can't go wrong with these , and it's a great start and maybe everything you may need to give you live ATC streaming and a flight radar to give you almost global coverage ..

Default Apps

Also have a look at Planefinder and ADS-B.
