Gents,

Air Luxor was re-branded HiFly in '06. The lease (according to the HiFly website) for the A330 looks to end around November this year.

Default Why park it @ YSSY

Why if it is leased to ADF does it park @ YSSY so much. Could be at Richmond or other site when not needed or laying over.

It could be perhaps that the runway usage fees would simply be too much. I don't know the exact figures, but it's a LOT! So taking off and landing for every single trip to sydney, plus taking off and landing again to store the aircraft at YSRI, not to mention fuel, crew wages, etc etc etc, would all be a bit much.

That's my guess, anyway.

Because it can hardly get in an out of Richmond with any kind of load, because many of its inbound flights are subject to Australian customs and quarantine inspections for which Richmond isn't set up to handle more than a few dozen people at a time, and because Qantas and Menzies look after its maintenance and cleaning/catering etc.
