Perhaps there are some unexpected WX related propblems with aircraft that need work done so they had to push some of their own to the pond?

With Bays 60 and 61 being closed, and Hawaiian occupying Bay 74 until around 1700 tonight, there's quite a squeeze on bay availability at the moment. This coupled with the fact that A380 development has removed Bay 23 forever, Bay 55 is downgraded to A320's max, and Bays 20 and 22 are gone for the STAR project, bay availability is at a premium at the moment!

The bay allocation 'mud map' nowadays doesnt leave much room for late arrivers or departers in terms of bay usage from 0700 til around 1100. Andrew If I remember next week, I'll send you a copy via email.

Cheers
Nigel

You see, this is why it's good to have someone on the other side of the fence!

Cheers for the info, Nigel. Good detail, always nice to keep up to date with what's going on out there!

Nick N, I'm finding it hard to decipher what you mean.

Weather related problems with aircraft?

Floody

Yes it is nice to get some really good details. More than the rest of us, but I can answer all the IT questions.

Good detail there - it was busy this morning but the only aircraft that remains is the Hawaiian 767.

This morning there was a QF744 VH-OJE (QF6 from FRA) parked adjacent to the Hawaiian aircraft. Several aircraft were forced to wait for other jets to pushback as their bay was occupied, such as Emirates 773, Vietnam 772 and even a Heavylift Cargo 727 arriving and departing as "Heavycargo 801"(I don’t know how that works).

If you didn’t see, the weather was awful! I was at Shep’s Mound from about 6am till 1pm and in stages, mainly at about 10:30ish, it was hard to even see the Int'l Terminal. I had to resort to taking photos from inside the car with the window down.

Floody I was assuming perhaps the weather had played havoc with some aircraft and perhaps some needed some sort of maintenance or checking or whatever? Was just as assumption based on no facts.
