Talking JetBlue 292 incident was on 21 Sept 2005!

I should have checked that before posting - you're quite right, Daniel! I picked it up from another site that was reporting it as news.

Anyhow, for those interested, here is another video showing a bit more of the aftermath: http://www.maniacworld.com/JetBlue-E...cy-Landing.htm

And a Wikipedia entry about the incident: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JetBlue_Airways_Flight_292

Still an impressive bit of flying, and it led to my discovering that many aircraft have no facility to mechanically dump fuel: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_dumping

JetBlue at that time owned Live TV, which streamed live video of the impending crash landing onto the aircraft for the passengers to see.

Not sure if the crew turned the system off, but there was certainly a lot of footage of the approach on the news channels.

Default No live streaming onboard for the landing

It was reported at the time that the crew turned off the live streaming so that the passengers would focus on their safety briefing and brace positions for the landing.
