Yes Michael, it definitely existed in the 1980's. It was on Ansett and went OOL-BNE-LST-HBA, perhaps in school holidays and the summer period....? I remember landing in Launceston and half the passengers got off before the other half continued on through to Hobart. I was only six years of age, but I think it was a 737. I can't remember if it was the -200 series or the newly introduced -300 series. I don't think it was the 727-200.

Hi Michael,

I have a copy of the TAA Timetable effective 17 August 1985 and it shows the following flights.

Mon to Sat - BNE - OOL flt 405 dep 6.15am arr 6.40am, then continues to SYD arriving at 8.10am

Sat - BNE - OOL flt 519 dep 11.15am arr 11.40am, then continues to LST arriving at 2.25pm

Sun - BNE - OOL flt 553 dep 5.30pm arr 5.55pm then continues to MEL arriving at 8.20pm

Reverse flights between OOL and BNE are flt 520 on Saturdays dep 10.20am arr 10.45am originates LST and flt 560 on Friday dep 9.15pm arr 9.40pm originates MEL.

All flights show "JET" so could be both DC9 and B727 aircraft.

Hi Michael, East West Flight 148, F27 in the Gold Coast Express livery from BNE-OOL was on 11 January 1984 on VH-EWQ. So yes mid eighties is correct

Another good resource is http://www.timetableimages.com/ttima...mplete.htm#Aus.

I have a AN timetable dated March 1986 at home it has a couple of interesting routes from memory there was SYD-DRW milkrun routing SYD-(BNE?)-TSV-CNS-GOV-DRW. Unfortunately equipment is "Boeing" but I'm guessing 737-200 maybe a 727 for the SYD/TSV if there was no BNE stop.

If I remember correctly at the very end of TN's DC-9 ops they had them on a BNE-ROK-MKY-TSV-CNS run.

I remember flying DRW-ADL on AN in 1994 the full routing was something like DRW-ADL-MEL-SYD-CBR.

*EDIT

It was actually a MEL-SYD-TSV-CNS-GOV-DRW milkrun I was thinking of. AN6 on Monday only. The return made the same stops as AN71 which ran twice weekly on Wed/Thu.

Was looking at the old Eastern Australian Airlines routemap today and noticed that they use to have flights BNE-WGA and OOL-WGA. Can anybody shed any info? Timetable image was 1992.
