Seems like most of the crews have a handle on it now, wind has definitely abated since earlier but it's picking up again.

That said, a Virgin pilot just mentioned he was 'still recovering from that one' on handover to Deps. Must have dipped hard after rotation. Tower asked if they bumped heads, but got no response. lol.

I'm sitting a block from Sydenham Station. QF428 just reported extreme overshoot shear.

I was watching the arrivals from my aircraft today (I was on DJ830) I saw a QF 767 go around and DJ552 get thrown around in the wind.

Some great banter on the ATC frequency today.

TWR: QF577, Sorry can't get you off in this gap, QF64 at 6 miles.
QF577: Tower, QF577, that's okay, I have been enjoying the view of the grass.
TWR: Hey, it's his second go, we won't say too much.
QF64: Hey, I am listening.
