Default QF 734 retirement plan

Hi,

Just wondering what the current plan is with QF retiring the 737-400. I realise they still have quite a few in the fleet. Is it a 1 for 1 replacement with the 738. Will the new 738 have the new inside, or staying the same. Sorry if this has been covered before, but if it has, please let me know and lock this.

As far as I know their entire 737-400 fleet is advertised for sale. With 19 active and 1 stored and ~21 737-800 outstanding it will be almost a 1:1 replacement. There was talk that Qantas was deferring narrow body deliveries however it was not clear if it was their 737-800, Jetstar's A320 or Qlink's Q400's. All new 737 delivery will feature the new interior and I believe Boeing Sky Interior as well. I expect Jetconnect's 2 737-400 to be retired before mainline. The question remains whether their existing 737-800, A330 and newer 767 fleets will be fitted out with the new product at some point.

I think QF announced that they will fit the newest 763s with the new product.

Oliver, a friendly tip - when using the "Reply With Quote" button please edit the quote to include ONLY the relevant text rather than quoting the whole message.

VH-TJM has already been withdrawn along with a jetconnect B734 (not sure the rego)

B734 ZK-TJS has returned to the QF mainline fleet as VH-TJZ.

Jetconnect currently only has 2 B734s in service both these will be gone by SEP replaced by more new B73Hs.

Thanks

I assume the last 2 jetconnect B734s will be retired rather than moved into the mainline fleet???

Probably retired Brad, Jet Connect now have their 8 738's.

Gordon also advised that ZK-JTP was WFS at AKL on Aug 12 and JTQ will most likely be WFS soon.

My records show that JTP was last in SYD on 2nd Aug and JTQ was last here on 23 July.
