Jeju Air 737-800 Crash in South Korea
This morning (29/12/24), a Jeju Air Boeing 737-800 (registration HL8088) crashed at Muan International Airport (MWX) on flight 7C 2216 from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). There were 175 passengers, two pilots and four flight attendants; only two flight attendants survived. The aircraft overran the end of runway 01 after performing a gear up landing and slammed into a concrete barrier. Looks to have floated quite far down the runway.
Also to note, it is the first fatal crash in Jeju Air's history, and is now the deadliest to occur on South Korean soil, surpassing Air China Flight 129 in 2002 with 129 fatalities.
