CASA still allow AirAsia X, AirAsia Indonesia and they didn't have a problem with Indonesia AirAsiaX (which the Indonesian DGAC disallowed) and Malindo. I don't see them disallowing anyone.

Is there any specific reason why CASA wouldn't / shouldn't allow Vietjet?

I could go into a lot of detail but probably best I don’t.

Maybe see what a search of safety incidences involving their aircraft pulls up.

There is a perception, particularly in western countries that low cost Asian carriers compromise on safety but Vietjet scores a very respectable 6/7 on AirlineRatings.com’s safety rating system, the equal highest rating in Vietnam. In 2015 Vietjet received its IATA

Landing at the wrong airport is serious, but only happened once and it was a while ago now, I would fly them before I flew any Indonesian airline.
