Yeah i have to agree i flew on VQD back too OOL a few weeks back as u can see in my trip report and the cabin was a lot nicer but the only bad thing the seat numbers were orange background with black text very hard to read. i'd rather the models like VQN etc with the light up numbers on the airbus.

Cheers Matt

The newies do look much softer and sleeker inside, really clean lines. It's actually modelled almost exactly on the A330 interior - has the same design PSU's which are seatbelt/no smoking signs, the air vents, reading lights and call-bell buttons/lights - and the side walls around the passenger windows are the same as 330, very flush. Cabin lighting is slightly more dim than all our other 320s, and still has the pure-white light that modern Airbuses have instead of the more yellowey/pearl light on Boeing aircraft.

Much less creaking, rattling and vibration on the new ones as well, as you'd expect.
Additional pointless note in regards to your mention of lighting..

There's an example of what you mean.. the yellow-tinged white is called warm white and the blue-tinged white is called cool white.

I don't imagine Jetstar cabins would look too nice with warm white, considering the orange used in certain areas.

Certainly is Joseph. As mentioned by others previously, these second-hand A321s required a lot of touching-up/fixing-up when Jetstar received them and a lot of money spent, but there are still minor glitches and faults with the aircraft almost every time I fly on them. None of course which affect the safety of the aircraft, just aesthetic or service-related items.

I crewed -VWY today MEL-OOL-MEL (430/431) and like your flight last night, the IFE (both drop-down screens and the in-seat audio) was unserviceable for whatever reason. It's a bit 50/50 with those screens - half the time they work and the other half the time they're out of action.

Eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new 321s some time around May next year!

Was at MEL for the first time in years last week and saw VH-VWZ.

What routes are these 2 aircraft operating on?
