Default VA Bathurst Flyover

VA YIF did a new laps over Bathurst before the race start this morning

Could they not have used a Sydney based aircraft. What a waste of fuel.
Not a bad fly past though.

I thought maybe an aircraft with a long layover in CBR would have been most efficient...pretty sure there is one on a Sunday!

The QF (744 & 738) that used to fly over the F1 Grand Prix came from Sydney, maybe they conduct some crew training in & out of the planned hold point prior to the fly over.
