Default Etihad - The Residence 'class'

Hi all,

Just wondering if any one has paid too much attention to Etihads new 'class' called the Residence, which will be installed on their A380's and be exclusively on routes between AUH and LHR.

A three room suite containing a bedroom, a lounge room and a ensuite this is ultimate in luxury for commercial air travel. More here.

Just in case your wondering a return SYD - AUH - LHR trip is about AUD40,000 per person. And 'the residence' is only available on the short hop to/from AUH. The long flight you'll have to slum it in normal first class...or potentially in VA's business class!

Cheers

M

Hey Mark

Thankfully EY announced overnight AUH-SYD will get A380s on 7 of 10 weekly!

Awesome! And EY are only charging an extra AUD4,000.00 return for the privilege of flying 'the residence' for the whole journey.

Just made a dummy booking SYD-AUH-LHR 23/6/15 - 7/7/15 2 pax total price AUD86,982.28, YIKES

Oh wow, further it appears the price doesn't change if flying solo. I guess that makes sense to some extent. Same booking, same dates with just one pax total price AUD86,521.14. The price difference obviously being less taxes.

Seriously, if you can afford that go buy a private jet.

Cheers

M

That's VERY cheap compared to what something like a G5 would cost for the same trip, trust me. Upwards of 1/4 of the price actually.

Sound's like a good option tbh.

Plenty of people will pay for it, and there are only two on the aircraft. There is plenty of wealth out there...
