Smile Live ATC from Cairns

Just a short heads up to the group,

I am running 24/7 live ATC comms from Cairns on liveatc.net

http://www.liveatc.net/flisten.php?mount=ybcs&icao=ybcs

or for the liveatc web site go to

http://www.liveatc.net/

also I am feeding into Flight radar 24/7

at http://www.flightradar24.com/

and to Plane Finder at http://planefinder.net/

On Plane finder we now have almost continuous coverage from Cairns, thru Townsville ,and Mackay ( mackay not 24/7 yet) down to brisbane

All part of this expanding hobby we all enjoy.

A big thank you Steve.

For the hobby we enjoy many people need to volunteer to help everyone out so it's great to see you using your resources for the enthusiasts benefit.

G'day Steve

I'm curious to know, what equipment would you need (And where from) to be able to pick up the Flight Radar?

First , glad to see people listening in to the feed, ..

Maikha ly , not sure just what you after here, All you need to view flight radar is to follow the provided link, and look at any where in the world your interested in, .

If your asking about the feed into the system, you need something like a ADSB box, I my case its from Kinetic

Cost is around $800 for the SBS_3. but there are cheaper options.

Steve, yes, my question was regarding the equipment being the ADSB box. I'm looking to get one in the new year. Many thanks!

Maikha Ly You wont regret getting an ADSB box, I have had mine running 24/7 for the last 3 years, and its still working as good as the day i set it up.

Many users around to help with advice if you require it,

Hi Steve,

Great job on the YBCS LiveATC stream. I run the YPPH one.
How far are you from the airport, which suburb? Radio is nice and clear (This is at 0445L Cairns time)

Hey Steve thanks for the links to Cairns never been to the city or airport but intend to one day, its great to see the amount of movements you get up there. Unfortunately with the dodgy Kiwi dollar the Kinetics box is out of my price range but wondering if anyone knows how this would work. I live under the arrival path for rwy 02 into Chch. Just hoping for advice or opinions please http://www.aircrafttrackingavionics.com.au/prod02.htm
