Default Tracey Curtis-Taylor Arrives In Sydney

What an historic occasion at Sydney Airport today, with Tracey Curtis-Taylor completing her 13,000 mile journey across 23 countries in her open cockpit
vintage biplane. Tracey flew from Great Britain to Australia in the Boeing Stearman B75N1 N56200 (757813) named "Spirit of Artemis", which was built in
1943. It was an absolute pleasure to talk with Tracey, and hear about her epic journey. A well deserved congratulations and glass of champagne to mark
the occasion. The Stearman's wings will be removed, and the aircraft shipped back to Boeing in Seattle, where it will be prepared for Tracey to fly the
aircraft across America to mark Boeing's 100th anniversary.

The Boeing Stearman B75N1, such a beautiful aircraft, and now "Spirit of Artemis" is historic as well.

Cheers Tracy on an amazing achievement

N56200 is an immaculate aircraft in every respect

A pleasure to meet you Tracey, and hear about your epic journey. Tracey gained her Pilots licence at age 16, just like me.

For a different view of Tracey Curtis-Taylor's arrival in Sydney, here is my video coverage, including the actual landing and touchdown of the Boeing Stearman, and the interview with media back in the hanger.

Take a walk around Tracey Curtis-Taylor's Boeing Stearmam.

For an aircraft that has traveled 13,000 miles since the 1st October 2016, it has been maintained in immaculate condition.

Tail mounted GoPro Hero 4 with cables back to the cockpit. There was another camera on the port wing from memory. No doubt some stunning images
would have been captured during the flight.

Not a lot of room in either cockpit, and the frame is covered in fabric. The sticker says, "Solo Flight From Rear Cockpit Only".

The Australian Women Pilots Association (AWPA) awarded Tracey honorary membership of their Association for 2016. The certificate reads, "Congratulations
Tracey on a wonderful achievement".

Congratulations again Tracey

Sad news indeed this morning, Tracey has crashed her Boeing Stearmen on takeoff from Winslow in Arizona, she was unhurt, as was her passenger at the time.

Thankfully both Tracey and her passenger are OK .. The Stearman can be rebuilt , and no doubt will grace the skies again ..
