Upcoming Introductory C152 Flight

Hey everyone next week i will be taking my first flight in a Cessna 152 with Aerospace Aviation(which im a little nervous about). I was origionally going to have it today(Tuesday) but it was called off due weather.

I have a few questions for the aviation enthusiast:

1)I will be in a C152, just asking how big their fleet of these their are and what the rego i might fly in could be if theres a small fleet.

2)What kind of things will i be doing for my 1st flight. I understand you get to take control for a bit?

Hey Tim,
I did my initial training to GFPT at Aerospace.

1.) They got about 10 C152s now.
Regos are KTL, JGK, TFR, FAM, KKE, BRS, IIJ, KKB, MFG, RQT.
So its hard to predict which one you would get.

2.) before the flight depending on the instructor there will be a briefing between maybe 20 mins to an hour- mine was an hour but some people have a much shorter briefing on a trial flight. This briefing will cover Effects of Controls which is basically the different functions of your yoke, rudders etc what they are capable of and how they work. How the plane basically gets airborne and keeps in the air. Your right in saying theres some handling time, which while possibly quite minimal due to it being your first flight is a great chance to see if its really your cup of tea and something you wish to pursue further.
Dont be afraid to ask questions however skewed or silly you think they are and above all just enjoy the experience, it will last with you for a long time.

i did a TIF with Aerospace on Australia Day this year in a C152A VH-RQT. Was a great flight. You'll experience "effects on controls" etc.

P.S. Watch the doors, mine came open during takeoff and I had to shut it once we were safely established in a climb. The door had been properly secured before takeoff, but the latch just worked itself lose I guess.

Haha thats true Nigel! That part doesn't quite jump out at me and say "Come Fly!" but anyway nothing will stop me from flying except weather(which did today because my flight was supposed to be today but due to the weather was called off.)

If i havent said allready, its next Thursday so hopefully i will have some pics to put up and a few stories to tell

Hey everyone i went to take my 2nd flight today as they mucked up my 1st by only sending me up for 30mins rather than the 1hr we paid for. They said they could give us our money back or take us for another 1hr flight(which i did). I ended up flying in VH-KKB. Today i was schedualled for VH-FAM(called off due to high wind) but i will hopefully be taking it on the 1st of June in VH-KKE.

It was deffinatly a great experiance seeing what goes on on takeoff and landing. We departed RWY29R making a slight right turn heading to the north of Warwick Racecourse then i got to take control making a few turns.

You took a 'Bigma' up with you? Wow, bet the little 152 was right on its weight limit with two up and a Bigma on board!

Haha yeah i really wanted to try and get a Bankstown overview so i quickly whipped it out, took a few snaps then went back to the 18mm. I could feel the 152 struggling on our long takeoff roll
