Default Delta DL16 Cancelled 31/7

Noticed on Sydney Departures that Delta DL16 for today cancelled, also FlightAware shows DL17, todays inbound flight diverted, it appears it returned to LAX after a flight time of 5hrs and no indication that it has left again.Anybody got any info on what has happened?

Yep,

a friend was on the DL16 outbound. She turned up to the airport and was told there it was cancelled (not sure why this info wasnt disseminated earlier given they had time..).

Inflight return to LAX- not sure of the reason, but she was told technical related- and the 16 cancelled.

Next flight out available for her- wait for it- tuesday but more likely Wednesday- not happy as she has missed 2 connections as a result. Guess these flights are chockers at the moment!

Thanks for that info Matt, I wonder if it was a Tech or Medical problem? Does any body know if they still get the 777s sprayed in SYD or are they back to the UK for it?
