No, they're not Brian !

Only 5 or 6 have been lost so far of 400+ built and the loss rate per 10,000 flying hours is on a par or better than other types. Several losses have occurred due to obvious pilot or ground crew error.

As an aside, the RAAF's F/A-18 loss rate per 10,000 flying hours was about 11 TIMES BETTER than the Mirages it replaced.
