Default Jetstar Phuket flight dirverts to Bangkok

I would rather land safely in Bangkok than fly into a thunderstorm.

Ninemsn story here:

This makes an interesting read from News.com:

Excerpt from Jetstar's Condition of Carriage:
9.1 Schedules

(a) Jetstar does not guarantee it will be able to carry you and your Baggage in accordance with the scheduled date and time of the flights specified. Schedules may change without notice for a range of reasons including but not limited to bad weather, air traffic control delays, strikes, technical disruptions and late inbound aircraft. Flight times do not form part of your contract of carriage with us.

Number 5 in that article is a load of rubbish. It was never a requirement that airlines exchange tickets between them in the event of a disruption and it still isn't, but many airlines still do it anyway. Why? Because it's good business!
