Ok, what actually took place was: when they were taxying out, they were asked to contact the Coordinator on 126.7. On that frequency they were 'offered a short flight around the Sydney Terminal area and a missed approach to 16R to then continue on course to New Zealand'. Of course they accepted

Nice work on your photos Kurt. 5 out of 6 aircraft 'on-the-move' shots have that anti-collision beacon showing!
