Default Airbus reports new customer for A380

Apparently Airbus have taken an order for three A380s from a new A380 customer, press appear to be speculating it's ANA.

I was under the impression it was always part of the deal that ANA were going to have to take some A380's after they bailed out Skymark who had defaulted on 6x ordered A380's?

If it is ANA I am sure the Skymark deal would have been a considerable influence on the order. Japan is probably one of the more attractive markets where an A380 makes sense, however the lack of a secondhand market for the birds and little additional orders from existing operators (excluding EK) is a significant cause for concern.

Given Airbus was tossing up between ANA and a decent-sized customer in Delta, I'd go so far as to suggest Airbus made this a condition.

Yep, pretty sure it's to be ANA, have now read a few stories on the 'supposed' order. From what I have gathered they're going to be used in high-density configs on leisure routes e.g. HNL

Big week for the A380 with confirmation ANA will take three to service their Tokyo HNL flights from 2018/19 and the Iran order for 12

Emirates have purchased two of the Skymark birds, no doubt very cheaply.
