The plane crashed at the Serpentine Airstrip, landing upside on its roof, witnesses told Fairfax Radio.

"There is debris everywhere, it looks like the plane has disintegrated on impact," a witness said.

Police said at least two people were reported to have been killed in the crash, about 30km south of Perth.

Police said the plane clipped trees before crashing at the airstrip, which is privately owned.

Witnesses said it was believed to be a home-made aircraft owned by a local sports club.

Fire crews and paramedics are at the scene.

They showed video footage of the aircraft as it rapidly decended behind some trees this morning. Absolutley no chance of survival.

Just found out from Ch9 news, One of the pilots, Alan Hayes, was a Skippers Dash8 Pilot, who also owned a home built RV6 VH-LAR coloured purple and green. Deepest condolences to family and friends
