Default Air India Express Hit Perimeter Wall

An Air India Express B738 hit the localizer antenna and perimeter wall on take off at Tiruchirappalli Airport. The crew were not aware of the incident and when they were advised they dirvirted to Mumbai for a safe landing. The aircraft sustained substantial damage to the belly of the aft fuselage.

They did not divert when being made aware of the impact, the flight was half way to Dubai before they changed their mind!
