Default Air Austral

Always sad to see an airline stop flying a certain route.

Looks like you better get in quick if you haven/t seen Air Austral yet.

Thankfully I will just get there in time. Will be in Sydney at the end of Feb next year.

Nice aircraft, terrible loads. I am surprised they lasted this long to be honest, they must have been bleeding a lot of money on both the Noumea and Reunion legs. Shame to see such nice looking aircraft not visiting beyond March.

Are they considering other routes?
Or pulling out all together?

What other tech stop could be considered Noumea - Reunion with B777?

Wasn't Air Austral looking at an all ecconomy A380?

For those unfamilar with the service, an excellent trip report from ronerone really does capture the Air Austral experience:

Interesting.....

http://www.travelweekly.com.au/news/...sydney-flights

Air Austral has staged a remarkable u-turn and will retain its Sydney services.
The French carrier announced in December that it was withdrawing its Reunion-Sydney-Noumea services with the last flight due to depart Sydney on March 20.
It blamed the economic climate and rising fuel costs for the decision.
But its board has now decided to retain the flights with confirmation expected today.
Air Austral began flying to Australia in 2009 but has seen poor load factors.
