Help! Researching 1980 flight details
Hi all,
I was hoping someone could help me make sure that the details are right for a TV show I'm researching for. A character takes a flight from Sydney to London in the first half of 1980. His flight and gate number are called, and I want to make sure it's not called to a gate that doesn't exist or by a number that isn't realistic. Does anyone have knowledge of how many gates were used at this time for international departures? And what a plausible flight reference would have been for that flight? Any assistance would be most appreciated. Many thanks. |

In 1985 QF 1 use to fly Melbourne – Sydney –
Singapore –Bahrain- London . From memory we left from gate 6 in Sydney but that part could be wrong :-) |

This map might help - you have a graphical view at least. Looks like there are 14-15 gates at the INTL? |

Many thanks, guys, that's great. QF 1 to Gate 6 it is.
As a follow up, does anyone know when TVs were routinely up around the airport, as opposed to just in the bar? I'm thinking it's quite recent, but anyone's memory of this would be great |

Interesting old photo of YSSY. Shows that the traffic conditions around the entry into the domestic terminals has changed and also interesting to see the construction of southern cross drive.
