I was lucky enough to be on SQ221 that arrived this morning.
As soon as we boarded in Singapore I asked if this was one of the new A380s. The chief purser proudly announced that it was and this was to be its first commercial flight. The captain also announced this before we left the gate when he advised us that four checked in passengers had not boarded and they had to find and offload their luggage, hence the late arrival into Sydney.
The aircraft was like getting into a new car with it being so fresh, vibrant and untouched. I took a photo and smudged the inside window perspex and felt as though I had to wipe it clean to keep it sparkling clean. Ha ha. It wasn't until we turned onto final that I saw how fresh the paintwork looked and how shiny the wing was in the full sun. I'm not sure what the full differences are in the cabin but the aircraft has slimline seats with a different entertainment setup and the toilets look modular and possibly bigger.
A very nice aircraft to fly in.
