Hi All,

Not related to these incidents, but the Daily Telegraph is reporting this:

Laser pointer prankster jailed six months

The Daily Telegraph
February 06, 20136:31PM

A MAN who disoriented a police helicopter pilot with a laser beam has been jailed for six months by a Sydney magistrate.

In Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday, Magistrate Robert Rabbidge sentenced Matthew William Moore to six months' imprisonment over the incident at Leumeah in Sydney's southwest in May last year.

Moore, 39, pleaded guilty last year to threatening the safety of an aircraft after he pointed a laser at the Polair 3 aircraft as it hovered at an altitude of 450 metres.

He was arrested on his front lawn after the incident, which police said caused the pilot to feel disoriented.

The court has previously heard Moore wrote a letter apologising to the officers involved in the incident and is genuinely sorry for his actions.

His term of imprisonment will end on August 5.
6 months isn't long enough!!
Should be at least 12 months min.

Stuart

But it's a start. At least it wasn't a slap on the wrist, please don't do it again type of sentence.

I hope he shares a cell with Bubba...

A Gold Coast man who shone a laser beam at a police helicopter up to 30 times in five minutes has avoided jail.
Disgusting.

The ever lasting frustration - the police get these idiots and the courts give them nothing as punishment
