Default Cable Requirements

I am about to do some renovating in my shed here in the high country of Victoria. I currently have my scanner set up in the shed with great reception for aircraft approaching MEL and also departing aircraft on the Strathbogie Departures. However I will need to lengthen the cable from my aerial to the scanner and was wondering what the best cable is to use. My current set up is a scanner aerial with cable attached and it just reaches where I want it to go...but the electrician who is doing the work is not sure what sort of cable it is, and when he (I) find out we can lengthen it to suit my new office. Can anyone offer help in this area?

Would agree that RG213 does a great job...however which cable type you need depends on how much additional distance is involved...if its only an additional 50 ft then you can probably use the same as you have already and just add to it with a barrel connector. VHF freqs wont notice that small distance....need to know more physical detail.
