Section 3.10 on page 5 says QF code shares on CX between Nagano and Hong Kong, but I think they mean Nagoya.

wait for Qantas to change its position on using one slot for a MEL-HND flight. I predict they'll double their HND SYD frequency, albeit with smaller airframes.

Executive Traveller is reporting that Japan Airlines is to move its Sydney to Narita service to Haneda from 29/3/20. The flight number will become JL51/52 but will have similar timings and existing 787-9.

In addition Executive Traveller is reporting that ANA will commence double daily flights from Haneda to Sydney from March, 2020 with daylight services to complement the current overnight flights.

Looks like I may drop JL for flights to Boston The timing has been almost perfect for JL7/8 to Boston from Narita.

But HND is better if you're visiting Tokyo, of course

Routes Online is today reporting that QANTAS will commence flying from MEL to HND from 29/3/20:

Qantas in Northern summer 2020 season is adjusting Melbourne – Tokyo service, where it’ll operate to/from Tokyo Haneda, subject to Government Approval. Tokyo Haneda service will commence on 29MAR20 with A330-300, replacing Tokyo Narita.

Following schedule effective 05APR20 – 27SEP20.

QF079 MEL1030 – 2000HND 333 D
QF080 HND2130 – 0900+1MEL 333 D

...and Virgin breathes a sigh of relief.

If Qantas had added more capacity to the Aus-Japan market it would have made it even harder for VA to make a dollar out of their Tokyo service.
