Default MAS A380 Sydney service

I haven't been following the MAS fleet changes with a lot of detail, but thought I saw yesterday afternoon's departure being operated by an A380.

Could this be correct, or could I have mistaken another flight for MAS?

ETA - just saw Graeme's pics in the spotting thread. Any news on why the equipment sub?

Hi Kent

According to posts on another site, Malaysia Airlines scheduled A380s on the MH123/122 flights on 30/5, 31/5, 1/6, 2/6, 5/6, 6/6, 7/6 and 8/6. A rare event for Sydney spotters as these aircraft may be disposed of shortly as part of Malaysia's fleet rationalization.

And also from the same site, Etihad's EY454/455 flights will be operated by A380s from today. A8-APA will be the first and is scheduled to arrive about 6pm.

Cheers

Bob

Oops, that's A6-APA not A8-APA.

Etihad's third A380 was only delivered on 30 May so they can't afford to have any go tech and the scheduling will be tight.

Bob - thanks for both bits of info. Nice to see the A380s from a couple of extra airlines!

According to Australian Business Traveller MH is only selling 2 of its 6 A380s, not all as was previously reported.

The Feb/March ops for MH with A380s has now been extended to July according to YSSY.

Default Malaysian A380

This is presumably possible as the afternoon departure from Heathrow is now by A350 rather than A380. Not sure I would want to fly on 9M-MAD though!
