a few years back a Virgin blue 737-700 had the same thing happen onroute from Sydney to Melbourne...


anyone know the rego of the a/c involved in the latest incident?

It wasn't an 737-700 as per the News.com report. No cabin pressure was lost as well.

VH-VBC was the aircraft involved in the incident.

No it wasn't, as a previous poster said the aircraft involved wasn't even a B737-700.

By my SBS log, the aircraft was definately VBC which departed at 6am.

VH-VBC was not the a/c in question. VH-VBC departed Townsville for Brisbane this morning as DJ654 which departed at 6am. DJ656 departs Townsville for Brisbane 9:15am and arrives into Brisbane at 11:00am

Sorry all, my mistake. Got myself confused with the flight nos.

VH-ZPB was the aircraft in question, E190. Arrived TSV from BNE 15 mins late at 0900 operating DJ655, departed 21 mins late at 0936 as DJ656 back to BNE, but then via MKY with the incident that took place.

Perhaps someone at news.com looked up the Virgin Blue online schedules which show '73G' for 737-700, 737-800 and EMB-190 flights?
