Default QF32 yesterday/today.

Hi

Does anyone here no which aircraft was concerned in the following turbulence?

SEVEN people have been injured aboard an international Qantas flight to Sydney after the aircraft was hit by severe turbulence. QF32 had departed London on Friday night and was three hours out of Singapore on Saturday morning when it was hit by turbulence caused by bad storms in the Indian airspace.

The aircraft is due into YSSY at 2100.

I think VH-OQF might be closer.

I'm a bit confused here. The Qantas Source is saying OQL but OQF was delayed in Singapore from the previous day due to a tech issue and pax were put up for the night, hence the QF 32D. If this is correct then both 32s arrived at YSSY tonight, so which one was the effected flight?

Thanks
Jim

QF32 leaving Friday was the affected flight (VH-OQF). The QF32 leaving Saturday was on schedule and was VH-OQL. So yes, 2 A380s arrived into Sydney tonight from Singapore.

Yes... per the media reports and the Qantas flight status page, the Friday QF32 ex London was delayed a full 24 hours in Singapore and became QF32D today alongside the normal QF32 that left London on Saturday morning.

Have found a few Twitter users who were reportedly on board.

http://twitter.com/johnjonesname

Not sure if he's speaking figuratively when he says "just had my head hit the ceiling due to turblance on #QF32 so hard the seat #fails"

http://twitter.com/TheFerret

"Just off QF32 in SIN. Hit major clear air turb, some minor injuries. Guy next to me hit roof. Happy to land."

"back of plane seems to have been hit by the fall harder than front, weird"

http://twitter.com/SimonSChan

"Did your seat ever recline? Mine (row 65) worked properly before hitting turb..."

"details in Fairfax story (eg SMH, WA Today) not 100% - will drop editor a note to advise"

"It hit severe turbulence about 2am Perth time. Some ppl were injured. All were shaken up."

"QF32 crew asked doctors/nurses onboard to help after incident - I heard some declined help. My seat not able to recline afterwards"

http://twitter.com/paulmervynevans

"No announcement from #QF32 captain for 5 minutes after turbulence event. Silence did not help calm nerves. Revise procedure??"

"No news re #QF32 flight status. Stuck in Singapore hotel. Not a Qantas rep to be seen. Flight time keeps slipping. Not good."

"Re #QF32. Why would 30 seconds of turbulence take an #A380 out of service for 24 hours???"

"So 400+ pax on #QF32 woken up at 4:30am & taken to SNG despite no OK for #A380. Could still be in bed!!! Where is replacement Boeing???"

"#QF32 engineers to now make decision re #A380 by 7:45am."

http://twitter.com/louflanagan also appears to have been on board.
