Any recommended carriers for cross country flights between Orlando and San Jose/Oakland?
American use MD80s, Continental use 738s, JetBlue unfortunately don't meet my schedule on this particular leg.
Delta and United are options, but at this stage they are 3rd and 4th preference.

Was just reading through the TSA website where it suggests that laptop computers not be put in checked baggage if possible.

For my upcoming trip I have 10 or so domestic flights and for convenience would prefer to pack my laptop in my checked baggage.

Is this a big issue?
Would having the laptop in my checked baggage make it more likely that the bag will need to be opened for extra screening?

I will have TSA locks, but on occasions they do get cut which is an outcome I would like to avoid if it means that I should bring my laptop on board as carry-on.

Coming from New York to Sydney last month TSA opened my checked bag then lost my lock.
This is not the first time tis has happened.

I have read reports where TSA staff have admitted to frequently loosing/misplacing some of their master keys which open one particular type of TSA approved locks as its one of the more common used keys.
So whenever a bag comes past them with this lock, they have no choice but to cut the lock. Which is fairly poor I think. :rolleyes:
