UYF is planned to return from Norwich soon painted into QF colors

Tony JC 14th June 2025 02:36 PM

The plan is to repaint all remaining UY* E190’s that aren’t already in QLink colours as that will total 30 aircraft as per the current QF contract.

Tony, have you suggested that they should have names like the rest of the QLink fleet ?

Tony JC 14th June 2025 06:05 PM

I don’t think there are plans to name the aircraft and not sure the reasons behind that.

Brenden S 14th June 2025 09:04 PM

I have heard on the grapevine that Alliance are buying all the KLM E190's. Will be painted into Qlink colours.

Alliance yesterday announced that it was selling 12 surplus General Electric CF34-10 engines from E190’s dismantled in Knock, Ireland:

5 Frames have already been processed through Eirtrade with one more next FY. A quick way of raising capital.

Announcement from QF today that up to 14 mid-life E190s will be sourced to replace the remaining Fokker 100s in the Network fleet.

https://www.qantasnewsroom.com.au/me...0%af%e2%80%af/

Linked media release notes that 4 of the A320s released from Jetstar Asia will be transitioned to Network to enable "earlier retirement of four of the Group’s F100 aircraft."

Edit to add: I've included this in the QQ E190 thread because chatter over the last week or so suggests these aircraft will be sourced and provided by QQ, presumably under an arrangement similar to the TL wetlease. Same chatter suggests this batch of E190s will come from KLM Cityhopper; incidentally, I wasn't aware KLM were looking to offload any E190s at this point but it seems at least two are already WFU and stored.

Greg Hyde 25th June 2025 01:05 PM

These are the ones that Brenden mentioned earlier (ex. KLM).

Interesting to see if they come via QQ.

Greg Hyde 25th June 2025 02:16 PM

Eighty-Seven E-Jets have appeared on the VH-Reg, I was wondering if they might crack the magic "100" by Christmas. With recent announcements it may well be on the cards.

Dylan Hardie 25th June 2025 06:12 PM

Supposedly with the A220 base opening up in BNE in the coming months the QF E190's are going to be moved across to WA

lloyd fox 26th June 2025 07:27 PM

I caught VH-A2J today at BNE.

KLM Cityhopper has been replacing E190 to E2-190s for a few years.

QQ & KLM have a long term relationship with QQ using KLM Maintenance services in Singapore & Norwich.

The engine sale may of been capital raising for a potential E190 deal.

Rowan McKeever 27th June 2025 11:04 AM

They've brought 20+ E2s in and WFU only about 7 or 9 of their E190s, one of which as I mentioned in my earlier post was only WFU a month ago.

Greg Hyde 28th June 2025 11:24 AM

UYF has been spotted in Norwich with sporting QF livery.

Greg Hyde 29th June 2025 11:21 AM

The renewal program would see QantasLink’s Fokker F100 (F100) aircraft retired and replaced with up to 14 E190 aircraft. Qantas is currently assessing sourcing options for mid-life E190 aircraft and is targeting the first aircraft to arrive toward the end of 2026.

Greg Hyde 3rd July 2025 08:25 AM

UYF has had a test flight in Norwich prior to ferry home in new livery.
