Chimu Adventures are chartering a QANTAS B787-9 to operate six night flights into the Southern Aurora Zone to view the The Southern Lights, also known as the Aurora Australis!

The flights depart from BNE Friday 14/5/21, MEL Saturday 10/4/21 & Saturday 5/6/21, PER Saturday 8/5/21 and SYD Friday 9/4/21 & Saturday 15/5/21 and return the next morning. Economy prices are from $1,295 or $1,395 per person.

Cheers everyone for the update. It will be interesting to see how the leases run on the Jetstar birds and how/when/if they come back into service.

I can just imagine the cabin crew remotely dimming the windows "for your fellow passenger's comfort" on THAT flight :D:D

Jetstar B787-8 VH-VKD ferried from AVV to ASP as JQ7998 for onward storage this morning, 10 March, 2021 and arrived at 8:56 local time.

Jetstar B787-8 VH-VKJ is currently flying from MEL to ASP as JQ7998 for onward storage this morning, 18 March, 2021. This is the first of the three MEL based B787s to ferry to ASP.

Jetstar B787-8 VH-VKG is currently flying from MEL to ASP as JQ7998 for onward storage this morning, 19 March, 2021. This leaves three B787-8s still in Melbourne, one in AVV and two in MEL.

Jetstar B787-8 VH-VKI is on the move this morning, 30/3/21 but not to ASP. It is positioning to SYD as JQ7998 with a scheduled departure of 9:10 from MEL. This could be in readiness to operate some domestic services for Jetstar over the Easter period.

Pleasin to see if this is the case. Hopefully the current outbreak is resolved swiftly and the vaccination program also moves quickly so the likelihood of border impacting outbreaks is greatly reduced from its already low base.

With the UK having vaccinated 31Million people already, you wonder whether Australia will allow UK residents to visit earlier than those from the EU?
