China Airlines schedule change for Sydney and Auckland
Evening all,
China Airlines 4 weekly services to Sydney will now continue onto Auckland from October, thus increasing Auckland to daily services. Brisbane services services remain unchanged at 3 times a week Taipai-Brisbane-Auckland-Brisbane-Taipai. Quote:

So they are going back to what they were doing several years ago, which they gave up, presumably due to lack of patronage. Must be some different bean counters in there now.
Makes sense though, uses an A/C that otherwise sits on the tramac for 8 hours. |
Do they have traffic rights on the Auckland leg or is it only for passengers from or continuing to Taipei?

And BNE will soon be announced as 744 flights during this period as well.:)

Evening all,
Good news for Christchurch... Quote:

Wow, didnt see that one coming. Great news, looks like CI are doing quite well with BNE/SYD/AKL flights!
|
CI will make use of their aircraft sending it on to CHC instead of leaving it sitting around in SYD for 11 hours doing nothing. I wonder why they not try for WLG as that city is desperate for its own flight to Asia and they may have picked up a subsidy for starting flights from the NZ capital.
|
Aren't there issues with aircraft size at WLG though, especially if it was for regular wide-body services?
